Before the official finalists are announced tomorrow, I wanted to take some time to introduce the people who actually chose the finalists you’ll see. I received 7 absolutely amazing entries and can honestly say without a moment’s hesitation that I’m glad I didn’t have to whittle them down by myself!

I chose the judges based on several criteria. Simply put, I wanted the best chance to make this contest as fair as possible by including people with relevant backgrounds. But once the finalists go up on the blog, it’s up to YOU to make sure your fave wins a free session with Elle Golden Photography!

So, without further ado, here are the “Operation: Happy Homecoming” judges!

Kimberly

Kimberly is a 34-year old event planner for a non-profit. She lives in New York City but is busy planning her wedding in Dallas, Texas. Kimberly says she’s thrilled to finally plan an event that’s not work-related and to be marrying her best friend. She loves online shopping, Sunday brunch, Central Park, and random celebrity spottings on the streets of Manhattan.

Mariko

Mariko is a 29-year old professional photographer who started her career as a military photographer (9 years and counting). She has since added weddings, events and lifestyle photography to her list. She loves milkshakes, scrapbooking, cuppy cakes, crayons, singing in the car (off tune, of course), tattoos, Sanrio, swimming, rain, chapstick, carbs, books, traveling, art and is a total foodie! LeiLani (aka “Elle”) & Chris

Finally, there’s yours truly! You obviously already know a little about moi. But I’m helped by my husband, who is the son of a Marine and Vietnam veteran who ultimately gave his life to this country (he died after battling cancer caused by Agent Orange). While Chris never migrated around like most military brats, he still understands first-hand the sacrifices our military and their families make.
